|THE KIT-ECO FORENSIC
OPPORTUNITIES FOR CHILDREN AS TEACHERS
The ECO System Starter Pack includes four inter-related kits. Three of them are connectable biomes: a worm biome, an ant biome and the ECO Dome, which is the plant biome. Each kit can involve a separate team of children. Each team will become expert in all things to do with their biome.
The fourth kit, this kit, is the ECO Forensic Kit - a kind of chemical and physical laboratory that can reveal and measure hidden changes in all the biomes. This team is truly going to be working hard helping all the other biome teams.
Find as many opportunities as possible for the teams to stand up and talk to the class and answer questions about their projects and discoveries.
TWO TESTS AT THE SAME TIME
For children to draw meaningful conclusions from their forensic tests, it is always best if they can compare and contrast two or more sets of results at the same time. To make that easier, we supply two sets of measuring cylinders and sample tubes and more. To keep things neat and organized, the special workbench is divided into two working surfaces, so two or more children can work on it at the same time. Real science is easier to achieve and is great fun too!
SAFE WORKING WITH CHEMICALS
WARNING: Some activities in this kit require the children to wear protective gloves, mask or goggles. They are included in the pack. If the children are under 10 years old we recommend the teacher supervises those activities.
SAFETY AND FIRST AID SHEET
A safety and first aid sheet is enclosed in the kit. Spare sheets are also in the service pack. Please keep in an easily accessible place.
